Patients 19 years of age and under and 65 and older are covered by OHIP for eye exams on an annual basis. A valid health card is all that is needed at each visit for OHIP insured visits. Patients between the ages of 20-64 are no longer covered by OHIP for eye exams. Non-OHIP insured services may be covered by third party insurance plans or employer health benefits. Please check with your employer/insurance company for benefits, as due to the privacy act we are often unable to find out your coverage for you. We are happy to try to direct bill for most insurance companies for you. Please bring your insurance benefits card with you to your appointment.
